Hello again, Friends of Unwind!
So, I hope that you come to visit me at the Creativ Festival this weekend! Would love to see some friendly faces! This is a great show for all things crafty.
And, what this means is, I will be taking most of my spring and summer yarn to Mississauga this weekend. Balls of yarn LOVE to go on road trips—in case you didn’t know.
So what I’ve decided to do is have a BIG SALE at the store! All my winter yarn will be here, sad and lonely and looking for a new home - sale starts Thursday through to Sunday!
Here are some of the door crashers….
70% OFF Freedom Spirit
(This is a beautiful, multi-coloured, self striping, DK wool that works with tons of sweater patterns!)

50% OFF Sirdar Chunky Tweedy
(Fantastic patterns come with this quick knit yarn!)

35% OFF Mission Falls Wool
(No one needs a blurb about this one! Just good stuff.)
30% Sublime Fine Merino
(The perfect WASHABLE sweater yarn. Maybe we’d all knit for our husbands more if …. well, I’m just sayin’) Nods of agreement from the knitting gallery - we know what you're saying!!
And so on and so on.
Many, many deals to be had…Don’t miss out!
Oh—almost forgot! Classes are up on the website! Just in the nick of time. Whew.
Have a great weekend! Wish me luck—it takes a lot of luck just to stay on my feet for so many hours—hope to see you at the show!
Wendy, tired just thinking about it. But excited too. : )

Always nice to see you. What are you knitting? I’m working on a baby hat for my class tomorrow. New pattern!
I’m thinking it’s a patio night. Summer to me is really about the patios. And first patio night is always something special.
Anyone interested in babysitting 2 adorable children? They don’t go to bed until midnight and they love to sit on your lap and ask hundreds and hundreds of questions such as: do spiders have bones? Is superman as strong as a house? Do we eat camels?
So let me know! They like to make new friends. Here’s what they look like…sometimes.
So I got all kinds of new yarn this week! Some of my absolute FAVOURITES came in!
Some lovely new yarn from TIlli Tomas arrived. It’s beaded lace. Lovely little beads are scattered all over her incredible silk. The question is, who’s going to come up with a little something something to do with it? A sweet little neck scarf? A sparkly headband? An afghan? Just kidding.

And of course, your favourite disco light is back. A little bling for you blingers.

And a big wall of Alpaca Silk from Blue Sky….I used to have this great shawl knit in this yarn but my mother-in-law borrowed it and now…mmmm….I can’t find it….? Isn’t that the weirdest thing?
(This is a test to see if they actually read my whole email instead of just sending the obligatory, ‘nice email’ message. I’m gonna get ‘em this time. Haha!)

And as I’m writing this my handsome delivery man just delivered more Hand Maiden Angel Hair Scarves to me. Haven’t had a chance to take them out of the bag…

So you can see….things are happening here!!
We’ll see you this GORGEOUS weekend!

Just so you know I’ll be breaking the law tomorrow to be open for your shopping pleasure. Shhhh. Just a short day.
Here are my holiday hours:
Friday April 10th, 12-5pm
Saturday April 11th, 10-5pm
Sunday April 12th, 12-4pm
Monday April 13th, CLOSED
Okey dokey?
So there are lots of things coming down the pipe (pike? I never know which it is) here at the shop.
I am working on the summer class schedule and it will be up by next Friday.
Because of the huge interest I’ve had in Entrelac lately, I will be including the class on my summer sched even though I usually wait for fall. Here’s what you can make using the Entrelac technique….thanks Heath. (oh, I stole your photo)

There will be a few surprises and lots of old faves.

We will be holding another needle felting class the Friday before Mother’s Day. Join us to make your mom this beautiful rose….
Friday May 8th, 10-4pm, $95
And someone who will remain nameless (cough…Fiona) had the idea of having a design competition. The details haven’t been worked out yet but I’m interested in finding out just how many of you are out there designing? I think I will be surprised.
So, who would be interested in a design competition—if the prize was a giant gift certificate to the store? Do let me know and we’ll take it from there…
Have a WONDERFUL Easter friends!
Pop in to visit us tomorrow—it’s going to be a beautiful day!

Another rainy day today—I LOVE rainy days! It’s so cozy here in the shop. I play good music really loud (cause it’s usually pretty slow when it’s rainy) and drink coffee all day to keep warm inside. Ahhhh…rainy days. Good stuff. On top of all that, Fiona’s going to bring me lunch. Perfect day.
Anyhoo, I want to say THANK-YOU to all of you who sent me such nice message after my last email about customer service. It is something we work on constantly and it felt really good to hear that we’ve done some good work over the past 3 years! Thanks again for your encouraging words.
So—this is your last chance (until Fall) to take part in a needle felting workshop with Lynn Tucker! This weekend she’ll be showing you how to needle felt wee bunnies in keeping with the holidays coming up. ‘Hare’s’ a sample…

Teehee. Ridiculously cute.
The class runs this Sunday from 10-4pm. $95. All materials are included. Send me an email to let me know you’re in. I just have a few spots so, email quick!
I got the coolest sock yarn in yesterday.
It’s called Duets from Lorna’s Laces. It’s made up of 2 yarns—one from Lorna’s Laces and one from Mountain Colors--both are talented hand dyeing companies out of the states. You get enough yarn in the Duets Kit to create this beautiful pair of fair isle socks! Pattern is included.

The color choices are fantastic!
, etc….
And more Sea Silk has arrived. Everybody’s favourite Canadian Silk and Sea Weed blend.

And I got a big shipment of roving for you to oogle. The colours! My my. Lots of natural this time, as well.

Time to get on down to your local yarn shop and get excited about your next project!
