CLASSES for Spring 2008
All classes must be paid for at the time of registration--in person or with paypal or VISA/Master Card. Classes are non-transferable and non-refundable.
Learn to Knit (one, 2+ hour session): $25 in-store practice yarn & needles included
During this 2 hour class you will gain all the skills required to make a gorgeous scarf for yourself or someone you think is cute. Skills covered are: cast on, knit, purl, cast off.
Skills required: NONE!

Learn to Knit in the Round (one, 2 hour session): $25 (practice yarn and needles included)
If you want to knit socks, sleeves, hats, mittens, etc this is a must-have skill! You will learn how to use double pointed needles. tips on how to knit in the round and the Magic Loop Technique.

Drop Stitch Scarf! (one, 2 hour session) $25
Are you bored of knitting scarves but not quite ready for anything too scary? In this class you will learn 2 different easy-peasy drop stitch patterns. Come by the store to see the sample scarves we will be learning in the class.

Basic Lace Scarf (1 part/2 hours): $30 plus material
Learn how easy it is to make a beautiful, Unwind original, lace scarf or shawl. Use one skein of hand-dyed Sea Silk or even Fleece Artist’s Merino Sock kit for the most original results.

Learn to Crochet (2, 2 hour sessions): $50 inc. materials
Learn the basics of crochet in these sessions—chain stitch, single and double crochet, how to read a pattern, the anatomy of the crochet stitch. Price includes cotton for the dishcloth and crochet hook.

Let's Get Crochetting (1 part, 2 hours): $25
Expert help and instruction for all levels, with Monika Stramaglia. Bring YOUR project or IDEA, and your supplies. OR purchse patterns, yarn and hooks here and we'll cover: pattern selection, pattern reading, stitches, starting, finishing, or just getting going.

Toe-Up Bed Socks (2 parts/2 hours each): $48 yarn included
Easy peasy socks in just 2 classes! It can be done….
You will learn the Magic Loop technique, how to work short rows on toes and heels.
Skills required: Comfortable knitting and purling, experience working in the round either on circular or double pointed needles

Baby Sweater (4, 2 hour sessions): $135 (all materials included) . Skills Required: Knit, Purl, a few simple projects under your belt

Clapotis Shawl (2, 2 hour sessions) $30 plus 2 balls of sock weight yarn
You'll have a great time with this one--you drop stitches ON PURPOSE!! Learn how to increase, decrease, knit on the bias, read a pattern, use stitch market, tbl, dropping stitches. In the end you'll have a light and lively shawl!!

Tuesday May 6th & 20th, 7-9pm

Wet Felting (one, 3 hour session): $65 (materials included)
Using your bare hands—no knitting needles—learn to make felted bags, bowls, wall hangings, jewelry. The possibilities are endless. Visit the store for more details and to view a sample of what you will learn.

Entrelac Scarf (one, 2 + hour session): $25
Skills Required: Knit, purl, picking up stitches, using stitch holders
Ooooooohhhhh. Yes—it’s true. Cashmere is here. This beautiful entrelac stitch will show off the gorgeous semi-solid colours in the hand-dyed, 4-ply cashmere we will use to make this delicious scarf.

Finishing (one, 3 hour session) $35
Learn to finish your work like a pro. Bring a project you’re working on. You will learn:
- Techniques to do before you start your work to make finishing easier
- How to seam your work together
- How to pick up stitches
- 3 needle bind off
- weaving in ends
- blocking techniques
