Finishing Class Saturday October 19 from 1 - 3 PM

Learn how to meticulously finish your knitted sweaters!

In this class you will learn finishing techniques, including:

• How to create a smooth seam using mattress stitch;
• How to set-in sleeves like a pro;
• How to neatly pick-up stitches;
• How to make a button band and buttonholes;
• How to weave in ends;
• And the magic of blocking!

You will practice your skills on a wee sweater fit for a teddy bear or plushy.

There is pre-class homework, as you have to knit three pieces. Fiona will send you all of the details well in advance of the class. The pieces are so small that they’re really just swatches!

Price: $45, includes pattern, homework and handouts. Does not include materials listed below.

Materials:  175m or 191 yards bulky weight yarn (Fiona used Estelle Chunky), 4.5 and 5mm needles, six 2.5cm/3/4” buttons, thread, stitch holders & markers, and a darning needle.
