Get ready to master colourwork with Cathy!

In this beginner colourwork class, you will learn how to work with two strands of yarn, how to carry floats, and how to tension your colourwork projects. All that's required to take this class is a knowledge of knit, purl, and knitting in the round.

Skills learned: how to read charts, how to work with two strands of yarn, how to carry floats, how to tension your colourwork projects, provisional cast on and grafting.

Date: Monday, March 4 and 18

Time: 1 - 3 PM

Instructor:  Cathy Scheepers

Prerequisite skills: Knitting, purling, making decreases and knitting in the round

Materials: Pattern, by Jill Zielinski, is included in the cost of the class. Please bring or purchase 777m of DK weight yarn for the main colour and 196m of DK weight yarn for the contrast colour, 4mm 16" circular needles (and possibly 4.5 mm needle for your colourwork sections), smooth waste yarn, a stitch marker, an extra of needles the same size gauge needle for grafting and a tapestry/darning needle.

Our sample is knit in Manos del Uruguay Sami in Turmeric and Manos Marla in Spices.
